Day 25: From De Smet, SD to Tyler, MN: 78 miles

Crossed into state #6! So today we had a brutal wind of 20mph but luckily (kind of) it was from the south, so no headwind but no amazing tailwind either. I rode really fast the whole morning and then putzed around the whole afternoon which ended up being really fun. First off, the sunrise was amazing, small perk of getting up and out at 5am everyday.

We had lunch in Brookings, a small but nice town in SD that was recently rated as one of the best small towns to live in. After lunch we stopped for coffee, stopped to pick strawberries, stopped to play at the lake, and stopped at a bar for drinks. We still got in at 2:30PM so the stops were well worth it and the wind pretty much stayed strong the whole day so stopping did not affect the difficulty of our ride.

Melanie on the cart on the way to the fields (Josie was our driver, a perky college student)

                                                                  Empty

                                                                          Full

Crossing into Minnesota, the sign was so Minnesotan (definitely a compliment)

Having a little too much fun (me)
